On February 11, 2025, the IT and Digitalization Committee of the Eurasian Cooperation Center held a session dedicated to “Cybersecurity and Personal Data.”
One of the featured speakers was Anastasia Shchitova, Senior Associate in the Corporate and Commercial Practice at Skif Consulting.
In her presentation, Ms. Shchitova discussed upcoming changes to the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, focusing on liability for violations of personal data regulations. She highlighted the planned increase in fines, the introduction of new categories of administrative offenses, and updated regulations regarding responsible parties.
A separate part of her presentation was devoted to the new procedures for anonymizing personal data, which are set to take effect in September 2025.
